Is MyPath Maine free to use?
Yes — completely free. There are no fees, no subscriptions, and no paywalls. MyPath Maine is a community-driven initiative built to make resources accessible to every Mainer, regardless of income or circumstance.

Do I need to create an account?
No account is required to search and browse resources. Creating a free account unlocks additional features like saving resources to your personal list, adding private notes, and submitting new resources or corrections for review.

Is this an emergency service?
No. MyPath Maine is a resource directory, not an emergency service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). The Maine Crisis Line is available 24/7 at 1-888-568-1112.

How many resources are listed?
MyPath Maine currently lists 1,163+ resources across Maine, organized into over a dozen categories including mental health, housing, food assistance, substance use recovery, employment, transportation, and more. The directory is continuously updated as new programs are submitted and verified.

Finding Resources

How do I search for resources near me?
Use the Search tab to type keywords like “food pantry” or “housing help,” then filter by your county using the county filter bar. You can also browse by category — such as Mental Health, Housing, or Food — from the home screen. The Near Me button uses your device location to show resources in your area.

Can I filter resources by county?
Yes. After opening the search bar, a county filter strip appears at the top. Tap any Maine county to narrow results to programs that serve that area. Tap All Maine to see statewide resources again. This is especially useful for social workers and advocates helping someone in a specific region.

How do I save a resource for later?
Tap the bookmark icon on any resource card to save it. Saved resources appear in the Saved tab at the bottom of the screen. You can also add a personal note to any saved resource — for example, “Called on Monday, left voicemail” — to track your outreach.

Can I share a resource with someone else?
Yes. Tap the Share button on any resource card to send the listing via text, email, or any app on your device. The shared link opens directly in MyPath Maine so the recipient can see the full listing, contact info, and hours.

What if the information for a resource is outdated or wrong?
Tap the flag icon on any resource card to report inaccurate or outdated information. Our team reviews all flagged listings and makes corrections. You can also use the Submit Changes option to suggest specific edits to a listing’s phone number, address, hours, or description.

Submitting Resources

How do I submit a new resource?
Tap the Submit tab at the bottom of the app. Fill in the organization name, category, county, contact information, and a brief description of services offered. Submissions are reviewed by our team before going live — typically within a few business days.

What types of organizations can be listed?
MyPath Maine lists nonprofit organizations, government programs, community services, and free or low-cost support programs serving Maine residents. This includes food pantries, shelters, mental health providers, recovery programs, legal aid, transportation services, employment programs, and more. For-profit businesses are not listed unless they provide free or subsidized community services.

How long does it take for a submitted resource to go live?
Most submissions are reviewed and approved within 2–5 business days. Our team verifies contact information and confirms the organization provides community services before publishing. You’ll receive a notification once your submission has been reviewed.

Can I update an existing listing for my organization?
Yes. Find your organization’s listing in the directory and use the Submit Changes option to request edits to your contact info, hours, description, or service area. All change requests go through admin review before being published to ensure accuracy.

For Professional Advocates

How can social workers and case managers use MyPath Maine?
MyPath Maine is designed to support frontline workers — caseworkers, school counselors, first responders, nurses, and community organizers. You can search by county and category to find relevant resources for Mainers in need, share listings directly via text or email, and build saved lists organized by service type. No login is required for the people you’re helping.

Can I share MyPath Maine with my whole team or organization?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. MyPath Maine is free for every organization. Share mypathmaine.com with your colleagues so your entire team has access to the same up-to-date resource library. No accounts, licenses, or setup required.

Is the directory kept up to date?
Yes. Resources are continuously reviewed and updated. Community members, advocates, and organizations can all submit corrections or flag outdated listings. Our admin team reviews every report and change request. This community-driven approach means the directory stays far more current than a printed resource guide or static PDF.

Account & Privacy

What information is collected when I create an account?
Creating an account requires only a name and email address. MyPath Maine does not collect sensitive personal information, does not sell user data, and does not share your information with third parties. Your saved resources and notes are private and visible only to you.

Can I use the app anonymously?
Yes. You can search and browse the full directory without creating an account or providing any personal information. An account is only needed if you want to save resources, add notes, or submit resources for review.

How do I contact the MyPath Maine team?
Use the Contact Us form in the About section of the app, or visit mypathmaine.com. We review all messages and respond as quickly as possible. For urgent resource corrections, use the flag feature on the listing directly — it’s the fastest way to get a change reviewed.
