When It Feels Like There’s No Hope,
There Should Still Be a Path

The story behind

A few years ago, our founder made one of the hardest decisions of her life. After years of quiet encouragement from people who cared about her safety, she left an abusive marriage with her children and three laundry baskets of belongings. Like many survivors, she believed that once she left, help would be there.
For nearly a year, her family lived in a camper during one of Maine’s coldest winters. At the same time, she was battling serious health issues and trying to rebuild a life for her children. During that time, one truth became painfully clear.
The problem isn’t always that help doesn’t exist.
The problem is finding it.
As she rebuilt her life and began working with nonprofits and community organizations across Maine, she discovered that there are incredible people doing meaningful work every day. Food programs, housing assistance, mental health support, and community services exist across the state. But too often the information is scattered, outdated, or difficult for people in crisis to access.
That realization sparked the idea behind MyPath Maine.
Our mission is simple: to create a clearer path for Mainers who are searching for help. We are building a platform that will connect people with the organizations and resources already working hard to support our communities. Through a confidential form, individuals will be able to share their situation, and an advocate will help research and connect them with the services that may be able to help.
Because no one should have to fight that hard just to find support.
MyPath Maine is about more than a website. It’s about building stronger connections between organizations, communities, and the people who need help the most.
Help exists.
Together, we can help people find the path.
