We are proud to announce the launch of MyPathMaine.com, a new initiative focused on making it easier for people across Maine to find the services, support, and community resources they need.
MyPath Maine was created with a clear mission: to build a more accessible, connected, and user-friendly resource network for individuals and families searching for help with housing, food, mental health support, community programs, and other essential services. Our goal is to create a web of resources available at a click, helping people find answers faster and with less frustration.
While services like 211 play an important role, MyPath Maine is being built to expand accessibility by creating a modern online platform that brings together both larger programs and smaller grassroots organizations that may otherwise be overlooked. We believe support should be easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to access.
This mission is rooted in lived experience.
Our founder knows firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate systems during a time of crisis. After leaving an abusive marriage, she faced the overwhelming reality of trying to find help in a system that often felt confusing, limited, and disconnected. For a time, she experienced homelessness, and that experience revealed just how hard it can be to locate the right support when someone is already struggling.
A couple of years later, while working in media, she tried to start something that could make a real difference. She proposed a marketing campaign funded by several local businesses to highlight available community resources and help connect people with the support around them. Despite the need and the backing, the idea was shut down because leadership was not comfortable having that conversation. Instead of letting that be the end of the story, it became the beginning of this one.
Looking ahead, the vision goes beyond a searchable directory. Once the platform is fully developed, we hope to offer a confidential submission form for people who are unable to find what they need on the website. From there, volunteers will help research possible options and work to connect individuals with organizations and services that may be able to help.
As MyPath Maine grows, we also hope to work toward nonprofit status so this initiative can expand its reach and long-term impact. To truly bring this vision to life, the project will depend on community support, sponsors, volunteers, and partnerships with organizations that believe in making help easier to find.
If you believe in this mission, please consider making a donation today. Your support helps cover the time, labor, research, tools, website costs, and development work required to build this project and grow it into a resource Maine communities can truly rely on.
MyPath Maine is more than a website. It is a mission to close gaps, strengthen connections, and make sure fewer people in Maine are left feeling lost when they need support the most.
Donate now. Support the work. Help us build a better path forward for Maine.
